Cabinet Refacing & Painting

The Beauty of Cabinet Refacing and Painting

Are you looking to breathe new life into your kitchen or bathroom without breaking the bank? If so, cabinet refacing and painting might be the perfect solution for you. Let's explore why cabinet refacing and painting can be a better choice than installing all-new cabinets, offering both practical benefits and aesthetic appeal that can transform your space without the hefty price tag.

1. Cost-Effective

Let's face it—remodeling a kitchen or bathroom can be expensive, especially when it comes to replacing cabinets. Cabinet refacing and painting offer a cost-effective alternative that can save you thousands of dollars compared to installing all-new cabinets.

By keeping the existing cabinet boxes and simply updating the doors, drawers, and hardware, you can achieve a fresh new look for a fraction of the cost the way this family did in this Raleigh kitchen remodel.

2. Eco-Friendly

In addition to saving you money, cabinet refacing and painting are also more environmentally friendly than installing all-new cabinets. By reusing existing cabinet boxes and materials, you're reducing waste and minimizing the environmental impact of your renovation project. Thus, reducing your carbon footprint.

3. Time-Saving Solution:

Cabinet refacing and painting are not only cost-effective but also time-saving. Unlike a full cabinet replacement, which can take weeks to complete, refacing and painting can typically be done in a matter of days. This means less disruption to your daily routine and a faster turnaround time for enjoying your newly refreshed space.

4. Customization Options:

One of the biggest advantages of cabinet refacing and painting is the ability to customize the look of your cabinets to suit your personal style and preferences. Whether you prefer a classic white finish, a bold pop of color, or a sleek modern design, the options are virtually limitless when it comes to refacing and painting. Plus, you can choose from a variety of door styles, hardware options, and finishes to create a look that's uniquely yours.

5. Preservation of Existing Layout:

Another benefit of cabinet refacing and painting is that it allows you to preserve the existing layout and functionality of your kitchen or bathroom. Since you're not changing the footprint of the cabinets, you can maintain the storage capacity and organization that you're accustomed to, while still giving your space a fresh new look.

The Cabinet Painting Process:

We remove the doors and hardware from the cabinets. Then, we sand and clean everything to ensure the primer can form a strong bond. We take the existing and/or newly fabricated doors off-site to prepare them for painting, where they undergo sanding and priming. Once ready, we bring the doors back on-site for painting and finishing.

We utilize Sherwin Williams Extreme Bond primer, which we have found to be the best primer for cabinets. Following the primer, we apply two coats of Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane to paint the cabinets. This meticulous process results in a beautiful, durable finish.

The Cabinet Refacing Process:
We carefully remove the doors and drawer fronts, as well as any hardware. Next, we prepare the faces of the cabinet boxes, matching the chosen finish or style. This step allows us to completely transform the appearance of your cabinets while keeping the existing framework intact. We then install new doors and drawer fronts, along with updated hardware, to complete the transformation. The result is a cost-effective and efficient way to update the look of your kitchen or bathroom, with minimal disruption to your daily life.
